Contracts Attorney

This position offers an opportunity for an outstanding junior attorney to join the legal department at an established, later stage, biotechnology startup. The Contracts Counsel will provide general commercial legal support on all contract and transactional aspects of the business and work closely with our business teams to contribute to the company’s financial and operational success along with managing our contract database, LinkSquares.What You'll Do: Serve as a direct legal advisor to all business units regarding corporate, commercial, transactional and contract mattersDraft, review and revise contracts for all aspects of the business including, but not limited to: vendor agreements, confidentiality agreements, license agreements, supply agreements, consulting agreements, master service agreementsParticipate with internal clients and third parties in commercial negotiationsAssist with other transactional matters as necessaryMaintain template agreements and the internal contract management systemAbout You: Holds Bachelors and Juris Doctor (JD) degrees with strong academic credentials, science background preferredHas a minimum of 2+ years of transactional and contract drafting and negotiating experience at a mid- to large-sized law firm and/or established companyIs a member in good standing of a state bar association, CA preferredExperience working with Master Service Agreements, Contract Manufacturing Agreements, Quality Agreements and particularly GMP agreements preferredCapable of handling multiple and competing workloads with changing priorities to meet deadlinesAble to work independently but know when to involve others or ask for guidanceWorks effectively with all levels of the organizationExperience working in-house at a life sciences company or the life sciences group at a law firm is a plus but not requiredExperience with/understanding of intellectual property preferredSoft Skills: Strategic Judgment, Problem Solving, Strong Written and Verbal Communications, Teamwork & Collaboration, High Attention to Detail, Self-Starter, Organizational skills, AdaptabilityAdditional Information: Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations.
