We are helping our client to improve their loyalty program by migrating and upgrading their data analysis capabilities.
The project involves migrating the existing SQL Server backend and Microsoft Analysis Services (SSAS) to Databricks. We aim to replace SSAS with a new semantic layer by conducting a proof of concept (POC) for three different platforms: Microsoft Fabric, AtScale, and Cube.dev.
Role & Responsibilities:
Understand DAX and translate existing calculations into the technology of the new semantic layer.
Create dimensions, hierarchies and metrics in conformity to a star schema.
Convert the dataset population in PowerBI from AAS to the new technology of the semantic layer platform.
Hard Skills - Must have:
DAX
T-SQL
Data Engineering (Snowflake, Fabric, Databricks, or similar)
Business Intelligence concepts and experience (Star Schema, Hierarchies, Dimensions, Facts, Metrics, Calculations)
Hard Skills - Nice to have/It's a plus:
PowerBI
Databricks
MS Fabric

Soft Skills / Business Specific Skills:
Strong english communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex concepts clearly.
