If you like working with supportive, high-performing, and curious teams, Sayari is the place for you.POSITION DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for a Risk and Insights Lead to spearhead the development and maintenance of Sayari’s high-value fast-growing global data assets which power the largest dataset of up-to-date public corporate and trade data. We are looking for a unique blend of strategic thinking, business savvy, technical acumen, and talent development. Sayari’s end users rely on our data to make mission-critical decisions. You will lead the Risk & Insights team, and oversee the success of Sayari’s data enrichment features, including Sayari’s precomputed risk factors.You will work with over 6 billion records from bills of lading and corporate business filings, playing a vital role in transforming these records into a cohesive and intuitive knowledge graph. Once these records are resolved into entities, you will oversee features that ensure accurate entity naming, display the most current entity status, enhance translations, validate shareholder status, improve geocodes, and more. You will also oversee risk factors (list-based risk from global regulations, network-based risk identifying potentially risky entities in trade and ownership contexts, and typology-based risk revealing hidden insights through unique data attributes). Your work will directly impact the success of all of our software and data products, and you will be empowered to transform pain points into impactful, user-centric solutions.This role is part of Sayari’s Data Insights Lab, our team of data and investigations experts who ensure that our software platforms are backed by data assets that are comprehensive, relevant, up-to-date, and optimally structured. You will report to the Sr. Director for Global Data and will be part of a dynamic and collaborative product organization. You will manage a team of at least two Product Analysts. JOB RESPONSIBILITIESTeam Leadership: You will be responsible for mentoring and guiding team members, driving performance, and implementing effective talent management strategies to enhance overall team effectiveness. Functional Requirements: Your team will translate user feedback and product-level requirements into actionable functional specifications that enhance Sayari’s data enrichment features. Your data and analytical expertise will guide the development of rigorous, data-backed precomputed risk factors and enrichment initiatives. Acceptance Criteria and Quality: Your team will set acceptance criteria (i.e. define what good looks like) for functional requirements with a user-first mindset, and monitor these criteria over time. You will be accountable for ensuring our data enrichment features and precomputed risk factors consistently meet established quality standards, exceed our users’ expectations, and show a clear return on investment.Testing and Iteration: Your team will drive continuous enhancements to Sayari’s data enrichment features and new risk factors. By conducting regular analysis of user feedback and engaging directly with customers, you will ensure our methodologies constantly evolve with user needs and new data types.Feature Implementation: You will actively engage with Data Engineering peers in implementing data enrichment features, weighing trade-offs, providing business direction, and prioritizing their tickets based on business impact and customer needs.Expert Input to Product Management: You will support Product Managers on how to prioritize enrichment and risk data work to best achieve product outcomes. Product Managers will rely on your detailed understanding of existing business logic to ensure they are building roadmaps that optimally drive business outcomes.Cross-functional Collaboration: It is a core requirement of your role to actively develop trusted, productive working relationships with your Product Management and Data Engineering colleagues, as well as other relevant teams. Success in your role, and theirs, will require close engagement of your complementary skill sets from research and ideation through implementation.Manage Data Labeling Projects: Your team will design and oversee data labeling and curation projects with our outsourced analyst team to provide machine learning training data and accelerate enrichment work, in coordination with the Director of Data Sourcing. You will have access to a deep bench of junior analysts to support your mission.Documentation and Reporting: You will work with Data Engineering to maintain and improve all documentation relevant to your portfolio, including dashboards, spreadsheets, FAQs, business logic documents, and ontology documents. You will ensure partner teams and company leadership have timely and easy access to information about data enrichment.Maintain Domain Expertise: You will need to keep your knowledge and skills sharp in order to stay effective in this role.
