We are seeking a Part-Time Academic Coach/Tutor to travel to the homes of students (grades 5-12) throughout Charlotte, NC, and tutor them one-on-one with a focus on organization, executive functioning skills, and study skills during after-school hours (3pm-8pm). Must have advanced knowledge of executive functioning skills. We help students to feel better with our expertise and a coaching mentality!Responsibilities:Drive up to 30 minutes to various home locations (Many families are located in South Charlotte).Schedule sessions during times that work for both you and the family.Integrate executive functioning skills, organization, and study skills into the homework that the student has for that week.Create weekly, concrete goals with the student.Communicate and strategize with parents, teachers, and specialistsRead and integrate neuro-psych evaluations, 504 plans, and IEP's into session plans.Research and plan for sessions.Free training and worksheets will be provided.Basic administrative tasks such as email reminders, use of Google calendar, and Google Forms.Independent Contractor position.QualificationsMasters Degree in Special Education, English Education, or Education.3 years of classroom teaching/tutoring experience.Experience teaching students with ADHD, ASD, anxiety and depression.Advanced knowledge of Executive Functioning Skills and Study Skills.Experience reading and interpreting Neuropsychological Evaluations, 504 Plans, and IEPs.Experience teaching Reading Comprehension and Writing Techniques to middle and/or high school students.Confidence communicating with and advising parents.Possess a positive coach mentality, process-oriented, familiarity with goal setting, and holding students accountable.Impeccable time management skills and detail-oriented.
