An assistant controller oversees period end journal entries, general ledger, accounts receivables, accounts payable and accruals, account reconciliations, internal management reports, intercompany accounting. An Assistant Controller will also design operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency, ensure integration of data produced into systems and support objectives of financial analysts, ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data, leads audits, quarterly reviews and special projects. The candidate will independently and proactively analyze financial information and develop solutions to moderate-complex problems. support the business by closing the books, analyzing variances and trends, that are consistent with the business objectives of the organization; ensure with IFRS and US GAAP corporate policies and the integrity of external and internal reporting.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Manage and own the entire month, quarter and year-end closing processProvide guidance on proper application of accounting policies and financial reporting requirements to ensure the legal entities complete accurate and timely financial statements which meet the corporate reporting requirements and comply with statutory accounting principles.Manage the preparation of financials, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial audits by analyzing financial data; comparing data to third-party information, budgets, or actual results; researching balance sheet account variances; managing and preparing financial information for audits; and participating in meetings with other functional groups and external auditorsDesign and implement business processes to ensure efficiency and compliance; working with finance and accounting departments when reviewing new accounting programs; and assisting in resolution of accounting problems arising between internal departmentEnsure consistent application of accounting policies and practices worldwideReview and approve various journal entries and relating reconciliationsReview of monthly financial statements and perform variance analysis and investigate differencesCommunicate accounting results by explaining variances and anomalies in account balances, determining accounting influence on future proposals, and discussing the effects with management teamManage the account reconciliation process by providing training and guidance to team members; reviewing account reconciliations to ensure accuracy, resolving issues or questions about unusual account balances; driving process improvements.Manage the preparation of audit schedulesEnsures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plansAssist and provide support for external reportingDrive automation of manual processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of existing processesEngage with auditors as needed and address any audit -related queries promptly and accurately.QualificationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA 8-10 years of experience in Finance and AccountingPossesses strong analytical and problem-solving skillsHighly effective verbal and written communication skillsExperience in using SAP S/4HANA and tools like Blackline, etc. will be a plusExperience with international subsidiaries and foreign currency transactionsStrong at execution, follow-up and attention to detailHas the ability to interact with all levels of managementStrong MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skillsExcellent organizational skillsAble to keep deadlines at a fast pace without losing accuracyWorking knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements a plusAdditional InformationFor California, Colorado, New York, Washington, and remote roles: The compensation range for this role is $105,980 to $166,930. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
