Humboldt Swim Club Assistant CoachTitle: Senior Assistant Swim Coach Job Location: Arcata Community PoolPosition Status: Part Time Start Date: October 1st, 2024Pay: $16 -18/ hourDescriptionHumboldt Swim Club is looking for an assistant coach to work with the senior program. The senior assistant swim coach is responsible for assisting the lead coach with organizing the senior program. Position assists with conducting practices, motivating athletes, and instructing athletes in strategies and techniques. 2. Job FunctionsAssist the Lead Coach in instructing athletes on rules, regulations, and techniques of the sport.Organize and direct group practices as directed by the Lead Coach.Assesses swimmers skills, monitors athletes during practice, and keeps the Lead Coach informed of the athletic performances of athletes.Maintain regular and timely attendance.Know and follow all USA Swimming policies and procedures.Provide first aid and CPR as required.Familiar with the facility Emergency Action Plans and respond appropriately to all emergencies.Enforce facility and team rules.Fill in for the Lead Coach when needed.Share ideas and collaborate with team staff and athletes.Ensure completion of all required training and certification per USA Swimming.Attend team events and coach meetings.Other duties as assigned. 3. QualificationsCurrent American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification required.USA Swimming Coaching CertificationMust have more specific training in Concussions, Athlete Protection, Training for Athletes, Foundations of CoachingMust pass a background check.1-3 years of club, high school, college swim, or coaching experience.At least a high school diploma.Must have basic ability to learn new programs.
