Job: Assistant PreKindergarten Teacher To begin ASAP Supervisor: Owner and Site Administrator Responsibilities: Assist the Lead Teacher in Early Childhood center/classroom Essential Job Functions:Responsible for all daily classroom activities which include but are not limited to:Assist the lead teachers with lesson plans that are appropriate to the students age and development level.Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the childrens age and development levelMeeting the individual needs of the children.Interacting with the children to support play, exploration and learningComplete evaluations and conferences twice a year, fall and late winter/early spring.Share in the daily responsibilities to keep the center clean and organizedShare in the responsibilities to keep the center decorated to have a fun and inviting appeal to young children. Professional parent communicationComplete all courses for professional development hours per year.Participate in required staff meetingsEnjoy coming to work with young children on a daily basis and provide them with the love and support they need for their first school experienceOther duties as assigned by site Director. Qualifications: High School Diploma. Previous experience working with in a preschool/childcare setting preferred but not required Salary: Hourly pay starting at $15 and up based on certifications and experience. Benefits; paid time off, retirement plan, and paid professional development. Schedule: This position requires at the hours of 7:30-1:30, 7:30-1:00, 8:00-1:30 or 8:00-1:00 Monday through Friday. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be able to provide own reliable transportation to the center. Must meet all requirements Stipulated by the Ohio Job and Family Services Day Care Center Licensing laws. Good communication skills, both oral and written. A demonstrated ability to work with young children. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: Frequently walk throughout the day Frequently required to stand and sit, reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, bend and squat to childrens eye level throughout the day. Have the ability to lift and carry 10-30 pounds and in case of an emergency a 50 pound child Have the ability to be fast of their feet and maintain endurance to keep up with 3-10 year old children. Frequently uses hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Frequent face-to-face verbal conversations and the ability to hear and listen.
