Objective of PositionTo provide high-quality child development programs. Program delivery and implementation are in keeping with the YWCA GLA Mission.Statement of Primary DutiesProvide careful and effective supervision of children's activities as assigned by the Site Director and Program DirectorMaintain appropriate standards and rules for children's behavior. Disciplinary methods used are non-punitive, supporting children's self-esteem while teaching self-disciplineWork with assigned group of infants and toddlers applying best practices for infant/toddler careFacilitate and nurture the development of each child's self-esteem, trust and growing autonomyFacilitate program curriculum planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that enrich academic skills, linguistic abilities, cultural and recreational experiencesInteract positively with all parents and refer questions and concerns to the Site Director or Program Director as appropriateAttend all staff meetings and training sessionsAssist Teacher with meal counts, absent slips, and sign-in/sing-out sheetsComplete Desire Results Developmental Profiles and Ages and Stages Questionnaires under the supervision of the Techer for a group of children as assigned by the TeacherPotty train as neededPerform related housekeeping duties as assigned such as sanitizing tables, sweeping and cleaning up spillsQualificationsPossession of an Associate Teacher permit to the standards of the California Commission on Teacher CredentialingMinimum of 12 units in Early Childhood Education including core coursesSix months experience working with children in a group settingMust provide a TB clearance within the last 12 months and must be retested a minimum of every two years as required by Community Care LicensingMinimum of 15 hours of training in preventive health practices including pediatric CPRAbility to lift up to 35lbsAbility to sit on floor, bend at waist, kneel and/or stoop 75% of the timeMust show evidence of a successful Health Screening as required by Community Care Licensing on a yearly basisSalary: $18.85/hourHiring for multiple locations.
