MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, such as coffee, tea, espresso, lattes, and iced coffee. Baristas should be able to make drinks with precision and consistency, and create visually appealing latte art. They should also have knowledge of coffee roasting and growing methods.Prepare and serve food items, such as breakfast sandwiches, cookies, pastries, and muffins.Greet customers, take orders, and provide recommendations. Baristas should engage with customers in a friendly and helpful manner, and uphold high standards of customer service.Provide support for co events hosted by Kakao and Union Church, designed to build community.Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar and equipment. Baristas should also clean and sanitize utensils, dishes, and service and seating areas.Ensure customer service stations are stocked, and maintain a stock of clean mugs, plates, compostable cups and chocolate..Receive and process payments, check if brewing equipment is working properly, and report any maintenance needs. Baristas should also comply with health and safety regulations, and communicate customer feedback to managers. Ensure Kakao is in compliance with city, county and state health, labor, liquor and other requirements.
