Duties and ResponsibilitiesCase ManagementThe primary purpose of this job is to case manage referrals to mediation in Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, and Ulster CountiesIntercept referrals from courts, police, social services, area schools and other human service agencies and assists in the processing of community (and divorce mediation) cases;Maintain accurate and confidential files on all cases; provide a resource and support to clients; open and close files;Conduct intakes and screenings, and schedule mediation sessions;Complete Caseload Manager recordkeeping; Prepare statistical data for reporting;Provide follow-up to referring institutionsAnswer inquiries regarding community and family programs;Monitor cases for non-compliance and addresses problems with conciliation, additional mediation, or a return to court;Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with referring institutions;Serve as a resource for mediators and arbitrators by identifying potential problem areas associated with a case;Review agreements, and suggest alternative human service agencies to provide follow-up support services;Assist with preparation for in-service activities and other office activities;Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings as well as meetings with supervisor;Help to set goals regarding case management; monitor progress of volunteers.Report any problems with staff, volunteers, or cases immediately to the Executive Director for coordination of response.Perform other ADR contract-related tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.QualificationsEducation: Any combination of work experience and education sufficient to indicate ability to perform the jobProficiency in following computer programs: Excel, Word, PDF, Zoom, email, texting app, Caseload Manager, BoxSkills and AbilitiesAbility to promote the use of the Alternative Dispute Resolution process through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion;Recognition and self-awareness of limits, boundaries, and triggers, and ability to remain outwardly neutral and respectful to all parties involved in case management. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to respect and relate to individuals from various backgrounds and cultures in a caring and sensitive manner;Ability to work within established guidelines, take direction, follow through with tasks, and be dependableAbility to keep information confidential.Skilled in verbal and written communication, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy Must act in a non-discriminatory manner toward all clients, regardless of crimes accused of or committed, age, sex, race, national origin, religion, physical handicap, political affiliations, social or economic status, affliction preference, or sexual orientation.Ability to work some flexible hours and some set hours.Must be able to complete training and apprenticeship to become a certified mediator;Ability to work with and nurture professional level volunteers and clients from all socio-economic backgrounds;Proven ability to exercise confidentiality;
