The team is supplemented and enhanced by the use of Occupational Therapists. Kids Work is looking for a talented individual to join our team. Kids Work Therapy is hiring a caring and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our growing team. The COTA/L will be responsible for developing & implementing programs in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. The successful candidate will also collaborate with administrative staff to enhance the physical, mental, and social well-being of the children and their families. Job responsibilities: Observe and evaluate the physical, mental, and social ability of our students/patientsCreate & implement treatment plans, under the direction of the OTR. Analyze relevant medical information to determine appropriate rehabilitation goalsConsult with rehabilitation team to choose effective activity programsCoordinate with other therapeutic activitiesMaintain accurate records of student treatmentsAssist in educating students and parents with home exercise programs and use of equipmentParticipate in education and staff development coursesMaintain health and hygiene of the clinic and equipmentServices provided both in-person and virtuallyOther tasks as directed by the owner How You Will Impact Our Business (Mission Essential characteristics): You must be/haveHold an active Certification Occupational Therapy Assistant as granted by the NBCOT. Licensed under California Board of Occupational Therapy without restriction. At least 2 years experience working with pediatric populations. Knowledge of principles, methods, and equipment used in occupational therapy clinics.Able to understand and interpret complex written or verbal instructionsExcellent customer service skillsValid drivers licenseWrite clear and accurate documentation of treatment sessions using SOAP note format.Willingness to pursue Interactive Metronome certification (on-the-job training available) Work within a team setting to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into therapeutic activities. Direct supervisor is Stephanie Foster PhD, OTR/L. The team consisting of office manager, Melissa Vega, current occupational therapy aides, and other Interactive Metronome Therapists are here for you as additional support. Anticipated hours: Approximately 15-20 hours a week. This amount can vary, depending on the needs of the clinic operations & online therapy demand.
