Our founding team has a track record of building multiple $100M+ revenue companies and has an extensive background in education, and we are looking for additional lifelong learners who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students.Tutoring at Learner involves providing one-on-one instruction to students in a specific subject(s) or academic area. The tutor’s primary responsibilities include:Professional and timely communication with Learner, students, and clients.Assessing students’ current understanding of the subject matter.Developing and implementing lesson plans that address students’ individual needs and learning styles.Delivering clear and engaging instruction to students.Monitoring students’ progress and providing feedback and support.Collaborating with parents, teachers (when appropriate), and other stakeholders to ensure student success.Managing your schedule to accommodate your student’s needs.Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.The ideal candidate should be:Passionate about helping students achieve their educational goals.Able to work independently, demonstrating strong initiative and resourcefulness in delivering effective tutoringDeveloping and implementing lesson plans that address students’ individual needs, materials, and learning styles.Flexible and able to explain material in multiple ways to ensure the student understands.Tech-savvy and able to utilize the tools necessary to conduct successful sessions.Engaging, fun, and having the ability to connect with students.Motivating and inspiring students to become lifelong learners.Most of all, patient. Our students need tutors who will be empathetic toward their struggles.Our tutors should meet basic qualifications:4 year degree required (non-negotiable)3+ years of professional Chemistry tutoring experience (non-negotiable)1+ years of professional online tutoring experience (non-negotiable)Fast, reliable internet connectionOwn a computer/laptop and headphonesOwn or willing to purchase a stylus/pen. Wacom is recommended but not required.Professional, quiet environment to conduct sessionsUSA-based bank account & USA SSN (non-negotiable)Strong subject matter expertise in the areas they will be teachingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage time effectivelyCompensation$25 per hourTime CommitmentThis is a freelance role starting at approximately 10 hours per week, with the potential to ramp up, as needed. Availability on nights and weekends is required. This company is a start-up that relies primarily on email for communication. We expect you to check your email 2 to 4 times per day to be kept up to date with student opportunities. While we do work with students across all time zones and internationally, our core need for the foreseeable future is for tutors who have (A) at least 10-15 hours of aggregate weekly availability and (B) 70% of those hours available over the range of Monday-Thursday, between the hours of 3p-10p Eastern Time. By declaring availability in those specific peak hours, you maximize your earning potential with consistent, high-demand hours and can enjoy a more predictable & stable work schedule.Location:This is a fully remote position. We operate as a distributed team and can work from anywhere.
