The Data Insights Analyst has experience in developing deep consumer insights and competitive business intelligence through data that drives marketing innovation, which ultimately leads to creating the right experiences for our clients. The Data Insights Analyst combines technical data analysis, querying and scripting skills with professional communication abilities to turn raw data into insight and business answers for Simpleview and its clients. Through collaboration with the Director of Analytics, Senior Data Insights Analyst and other members of the Strategy & Insights team, the Data Insights Analyst facilitates success by finding creative ways to answer sometimes complicated questions around marketing and other data sources.
What your impact will look like here
Conduct ad-hoc data analyses using SQL, scripting, or other BI tools to support marketing, sales, and service efforts
Engineer regular data collection solutions via ETL and scripting tools
Design visualizations that present data in informative, accurate, comprehensible, performant formats, with careful attention to professional presentation standards
Conduct research to gather data and data sources that can enrich internal and customer analyses of business problems
Supporting Simpleview’s diversity of reports including:
Core Visitor Insights, Web KPI, Social, Board Reports, DIR and more
Ensures data is 100% accurate and credible with reporting that is clear and actionable.
If workflow or data collection changes are needed, will provide consultation to internal staff on next steps for implementation or updates.
Use Google Analytics, marketing analytics (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, etc) and other data (STR, CRM, AirDNA, etc) to analyze user needs and identify and prioritize problems, pain points, and insights via analytics, behaviors, trends, conversions, funnels, etc.
Build models to gain insights on what drives performance and growth.
Create custom dashboards and reports that provide data analysis, insights and commentary for internal and external customers.
Provide feedback to the Product, BI, Digital Marketing and Developer team on testing and data analysis as needed.
Investigate data and monitor data quality. Partner closely with and provide requirements to the Strategy and CX teams that can clearly be acted upon.
Frame business problems into questions that can be answered through data analysis and help translate needs into requirements.

Knowledge of SQL, Python (in particular, Pandas)
Familiarity with front-end BI tools such as Google Data Studio, Tableau, or others
Professional communication skills, in writing and visual presentation of information
University-level training in data analysis or equivalent professional experience
BS/MS in highly quantitative field such as Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, etc. preferred
Minimum 2 years of experience in data analytics position or equivalent
Familiar with query optimization and data ETL
Experience using Statistical techniques including correlation analysis, linear and nonlinear regressions, logistic regression, sampling, time series, and more.
Comfortable with statistical programming languages such as Python, Pandas and R
Skilled with a blend of consumer insights, competitive intelligence, and technical knowledge
Demonstrated use of analytics, metrics, and benchmarking to drive decision making process
Ability to translate and effectively communicate complex data concepts into easily digestible ideas or points
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, creative and communication skills
Understanding of big data, graphing, and reporting concepts
Strong writing skills with the ability to assist with reports, whitepapers, blog posts, etc.
Machine learning skills that include cluster analysis, neural networks, and predictive modeling a plus
Knowledge of Google Analytics, Social Media Analytics, Geo-location data and APIs a plus
Experience in the travel and tourism industry, specifically DMOs and CVBs a plus
PERFORMANCE METRICS
Must work a minimum of 2080 hours in a calendar year of which a minimum of 1872 hours must be billable.
Attendance, arriving at office on time
Projects/tickets completed by due date and under budget
Quality execution of tickets and projects
