Job descriptionWe are looking for a team-oriented dental assistant who will make our dental office more efficient and pleasant for patients. You'll ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist's shoulders. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. Following instruction and asking good questions is a must. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care, anticipate next steps, take initiative, and be able to make dental procedures as smooth as possible.ResponsibilitiesWelcome patients in the dental officePrepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfortSelect and set up instruments, equipment and material neededSterilize instruments according to regulationsPerform routine dental cleanings and assist the dentist with dental proceduresUndertake lab tasks as instructedProvide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructionsKeep the dental room clean and well-stockedSchedule appointmentsUpdate and maintain client's dental recordsSkillsProven experience as dental assistantKnowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methodsUnderstanding of health & safety regulationsTake and process X-rays of patientsGood computer skillsExcellent communication and people skillsAttention to detailWell-organized and reliableHigh school diplomaGraduation/certification from dental assistant schoolAdditional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)Works well with ChildrenJob Type: Full-timePay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hourBenefits: Flexible schedulePaid time off Schedule: 8 hour shift Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: Dental Assisting: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: Registered Dental Assistant (Preferred)X-Ray Certification (Preferred) Work Location: In person
