<p>Gateway Residential Services is hiring for Direct Support Professionals in the Indianapolis area. &nbsp;Current available positions include:</p><p>7am-7pm (7 on, 7 off) - Female Home&nbsp;</p><p><strong>POSITION DESCRIPTION</strong></p><p>Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide person-centered services and supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in their own homes in the community. DSPs play a vital role in helping people live a meaningful and purposeful life in the direction of their choice. DSPs actively teach, coach, mentor, and encourage people to embrace and increase their independence and meet their personal goals.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><i>PERSON-CENTERED SERVICES AND SUPPORTS</i></p><ul><li>Follow the PCISP and BSP</li><li>Actively engage with people throughout the day</li><li>Provide daily support to people to make progress on their PCISP outcomes&nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Maintain records and documentation per established procedures&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><i>SELF-DETERMINATION AND ADVOCACY</i></p><ul><li>Provide daily support to people to understand and exercise their rights</li><li>Provide daily support to people to make choices for themselves</li><li>Provide daily support to people to voice opinions and concerns</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><i>COMMUNITY EQUITY</i></p><ul><li>Assist people with planning and participating in meaningful activities</li><li>Provide daily support to people to explore community interests, activities, and resources</li><li>Provide daily support to people to develop friendships, relationships, and natural supports</li><li>Provide transportation to community activities and appointments&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><i>HEALTH AND SAFETY</i></p><ul><li>Provide daily support as needed for personal care and hygiene</li><li>Ensure a persons home is clean and in good repair</li><li>Assist with meal planning and preparation&nbsp;</li><li>Report incidents timely and accurately per established procedures</li><li>Administer and document medications as prescribed</li><li>Implement a persons Risk Issue Protocols</li><li>Assist with health and medical appointments</li><li>Monitor and document health-related issues</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><i>FLEXIBILITY AND COLLABORATION</i></p><ul><li>Use flexible and creative approaches to keep people engaged throughout the day</li><li>Communicate issues timely with Gateway supervisors</li><li>Maintain professional interactions with internal and external partners</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><i>CONTINUOUS AGENCY IMPROVEMENT</i></p><ul><li>Maintain compliance with training requirements</li><li>Participate in quality improvement activities</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><ul><li>Willingness to work a diverse schedule based on the needs and preferences of the people we support</li><li>Ability to bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach, and lift items weighing at least 75 pounds</li><li>Meets 460 IAC 6 minimum qualifications for a direct care staff:</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p>
