The Electrical Engineer is responsible for solving complex issues that plant electricians cannot resolve. This role involves working closely with electricians and requires a deep mechanical understanding of the equipment.Troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to identify and address potential failures in components and boards.Diagnosing and repairing general electrical controls, relays, starters, and contactors to ensure equipment remains operational.Rewriting and editing machinery control programming to enhance quality and reduce waste.Collaborating with various departments to evaluate the feasibility of project requests.Specifying necessary components and parts for upgrades and repairs, coordinating with vendors for supply, and tracking delivery times.Addressing critical equipment problems as they arise.Planning, scheduling, and leading crews in the installation of new equipment.Communicating with and managing vendors for timely equipment repairs.Maintaining continuous communication with relevant departments regarding project timelines, repairs, and downtime requirements.Supporting management objectives and policies while working with union personnel.Promoting safety and environmental policies and best practices.Participating in administrative staff meetings and other necessary meetings.Performing related duties as required and assigned.This position reports to the Plant Engineer/Facilities Manager within the Plant Maintenance Department.Position RequirementsMinimum of a bachelors degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.Experience in a manufacturing environment with a union workforce is preferred.Basic writing skills and proficiency with the MS Office Suite.Availability to work off-shifts and/or weekends, with occasional out-of-state travel.Ability to stand and walk on a manufacturing plant floor for extended periods.Must possess the legal right to work in the U.S.
