DEPARTMENT: MANUFACTURING REPORTS TO: PRODUCTION MANAGER POSITIONS SUPERVISED: A. Production personnel B. Machining department C. Forging department JOB DESCRIPTION: To give daily guidance and direction to production personnel in order to meet the production requirements and the customers needs. Guidance to be defined as helping in solving setup or production problems along with making sure the employees receive the proper training to perform the task. RESPONSIBILITY OF POSITION: 1. Supervision on the production floor. 2. Meeting the daily production requirements. 3. Supervise the hands-on training of production personnel. 4. Maintain adequate supplies to meet production requirements. GENERAL DUTIES: 1. Ensure the plant is ready for production prior to start of shifts. (ex. staging areas) 2. Plant to be secure and orderly at end of shifts. 3. Review time cards to insure all turned in and calculate production rate. 4. Adjust weekly machine assignment. 5. Verify material, dies and equipment are available for the days production. 6. Requisition of production supplies. 7. Provide or arrange for the training of production personnel. 8. Walk around shop to check employees dont need any addition assistance or resources and visually check product for quality issues 9. Attendance at the production meetings11. Report injuries to production manager as soon as possible. 12. Overtime is to be approved by production manager 13. Authority to solve problem on shop floor, inform boss if problem is over $150 to fix or affects lead time. 14. Inform production works of goals, hot jobs, quality issues. 15. Keep in mind Wodins budget and job costing. 16. Must be physically able to move in and around a busy shop 17. Foreman that are no on production (billable at 90%) are straight time overtime.
