Job Title: Grants Manager Job Type: Full-Time, ExemptImmediate Supervisor: Chief Development OfficerEmployees Supervised: None Job Summary: The Grants Manager will be responsible for the leadership, management and execution of Harry Chapin Food Banks grants program. The Grants Manager will serve as the strategic partner with the food bank internal departments in facilitating the process of pursuing unrestricted and restricted funds for the food banks various food distribution programs. The Grants Manager will manage and execute the grants calendar for maximum philanthropic revenue to achieve our mission to lead our community in the fight to end hunger. The grants manager will also be responsible for all grant reports, follow-up, and requirements to ensure Harry Chapin Food Bank is compliant with terms, rules, and regulations of grant funding and will keep management team and staff apprised of upcoming deadlines and information needed in advance. The Grants Manager will be an integral part of the Development Department, which includes communications and development. As a member of the Development Department team, the Grants Manager should have the skills, knowledge, and experience to successfully cultivate, grow and expand a robust grants portfolio. The incumbent can expect to frequently engage with the Board of Directors, leadership team and program staff. Duties and Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with internal departments and team members in the conceptualization and development of proposals to ensure the best interests of the food bank and our food distribution programs are leveraged and maximized.Create and maintain a strategic grants calendar that identifies and qualifies current and new funders annually that align with the food banks food distribution programs, initiatives, and organizational needs.Identifies and develops strategies to optimize grants administration process, ensuring a high-level of productivity, efficiency, and a robust pipeline of grantors for each fiscal year.Partners with Chief Development Officer and Major Gifts Officers to perform prospect research on foundations, corporations, and individuals to evaluate targeted opportunities and existing opportunities for grant funding.Prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundations and corporations.Works collaboratively with the Finance department and others to prepare financial budgets for grant proposals and ensure adherence to all federal and state regulations.Develops, prepares, and submits timely and accurate reports for all grant funded projects, ensuring compliance with proposed outcomes and grantor recognition, to the maximum extent possible.Stewards current and potential grantors through the provision of regular written updates (newsletters, email touchpoints, phone calls) and on-site visits proactively and upon request.Maintains current, detailed, and accurate records in Raisers Edge database, electronic files on the Development shared drive, including grant tracking/reporting of all proposals.Cultivates community relationships with foundation officers and other prospects, arranging onsite tours, lunches, and potential meetings with Chief Development Officer and/or the President and CEO. Valid Florida Drivers License. Specific to PositionBachelor of Arts or Science degree, plus 3-5 years of related experience (not including internships). CFRE preferred.Knowledge of fundraising strategies with an emphasis on grants management.Exceptional writing, reading, and communication skills including but not limited to; storytelling, proofreading, developing logic models, etc.Proven track record of success in growing a comprehensive grants program that meets measurable goals and objectives.Outstanding organizational skills; initiate and complete multiple tasks on time with competing priorities and deadlines.Outstanding interpersonal skills and judgement to represent the food bank; develop and maintain effective relationships with donors, prospects, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.Ability to establish goals and action plans and to work effectively and collaboratively as part of the team to achieve goals.Strong self-motivation and high level of professionalism.Working Conditions: While the responsibilities of this position are primarily performed in an office environment, it is critical that the employee is able to support the food drive and food sorting activities, and that the employee is able to periodically withstand long workdays in support of Harry Chapin Food Bank special events.
