If you thrive on positive energy, we want to meet you!Job DescriptionBring your passion and feel the energy Retail or FMCG experience highly desirableThe Head of Finance - Commercial will partner with Director of Merchandising Endeavour (Exco member) supporting Endeavour and retail Brand strategies with revenue of +$10Bn.With a strong commercial growth and transformational mindset you will drive business performance through effective leadership, thought leadership and actionable insights. You will also provide strategic finance support to Endeavours Retail Media business, MixIn. The role has 3 direct reports and total team size of 9 FTE's.Sound good? Read on.Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role Proactively deliver insightful analysis and commercial recommendations to the businessProactively manage, agree and communicate business Budget/Forecasts and any other strategic planning requirements (i.e. 5 year plan), monitoring category performance against plan, establishing early warning signals to ensure that plans are met or that corrective actions are taken. Avoid surprises through proactive oversight and communication.Provide strong cross functional leadership, ensuring Merch performance drivers are transparent and understood by FP&A, eCom, Marketing, Loyalty and Operations and that trading initiatives ultimately focus on holistic outcomes for Endeavour Retail.Partner with the Director of Merchandise to deliver the strategic agenda for Retail Trading and MixIn. Provide insights into investment decisions and benefits tracking to drive improved returns on investments and business initiatives Providing strategic recommendations in line with Strategy to the Merchandise Executive team and Brand GM Finance/LTPartner with the GM Merchandise to operationalise revenue and earnings growth through commercial decision makingPlay the role of ‘commercial advisor’ in all category activities, including supplier negotiations and discussions. Advise on performance and opportunities in relation to long-term business initiatives. Ensure long term financial targets have relevant and sound strategic thinkingSupport promotions builds, ensuring optimised performance based on category strategy and playing the required role to achieve targetsWork closely with finance peers, including other retail brand and group finance teams to achieve best practice and ensure consistent reporting and processesProvide leadership, coaching and mentoring to direct reports and across the broader Endeavour finance and commercial teamsQualificationsNow let’s talk about you Minimum of 12+ years relevant experience with CA/CPA QualificationPrevious management experience of multi-functional team and / or experience in the retail or FMCG sectors desirableStrong presentation and storyboarding skills and able to communicate complex financial information to a broad audience; able to make the complex simpleAbility to prioritise team efforts to support business requirementsAdvanced experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. Excel, PowerPoint,Advanced leadership, coaching, mentoring and development skillsAdvanced time management skillsAdvanced Advanced analytical and problem solving skillsThe benefits are good too!
