The Build Engineer role at Emerald is a crucial role that ensures efficient and reliable deployment of infrastructure, applications and services on the Azure Platform using DevOps best practice. Location: We perform at our best when we feel trusted and are able to choose an approach to working that suits us best, which is why we are a remote-first company. However, we also believe in face to face collaboration, and our UK colleagues meet once a month for team time and quarterly for company get togethers in our Leeds office, so we ask that you be within a commutable distance that you are comfortable with in order to attend the office on those occasions. Day to day we’ll trust you to: Write, maintain and execute Azure DevOps pipelines and supporting scripts to automate builds tasks and release processes.Efficiently manage and monitor Azure cloud resources by implementing best-practice cloud management techniques to maintain optimal performance.Work within the Infrastructure Team to manage, monitor, maintain and protect Emeralds Azure Infrastructure estateWork closely with and support the developer squads, attending sprints with an Agile mindset and assist with trouble shootingWork with Azure Integration Services including Logic Apps, Data Factory and Event Grid - you will maintain, update and release code changes to the Production environment using DevOps tools and practicesImplement monitors, alerts, and dashboards to track the performance and health of the integrations, the build and release pipelines and the underlying infrastructure.Automate tasks and manage resources, using your experience in scripting languages including Powershell and Azure CLI (azd).You’ll need to have: Essential Requirements:TerraformYAMLAADAzure DevOps / GitAzure integration ServicesPowershellDesirableAzure Developer CLI (azd)Certifications in Azure to Developer levelKnowledgeEntra IDMicrosoft DefenderMicrosoft SentinelAzure FirewallAzure Log Analytics, Azure MonitorLanding zones, storage, vnetBehaviours & AttributesAdhere to best practiceManage own workloadTarget orientedDriven and self-motivatedAbility to influence peopleService oriented attitudeWhat’s in it for you?
