Grow with us, H2O+U.Your OpportunityAs an Intern for Summer 2025 based in our Minneapolis office, you will work in a team environment and have exposure to water resources related projects. Our projects involve flood protection and risk reduction, dams and river diversions, land development, stream restoration, and other aspects of civil engineering. Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable students who are taking or have taken water resources and other civil engineering courses. This is a terrific opportunity for a college student to support a number of exciting local and national projects.Your Key ResponsibilitiesCandidate will assist engineering and administrative staff with such tasks as:Data processing and management using GIS to support hydrologic and hydraulic modelingPreparing spreadsheets, graphs, and figures for design reportsPreparing design and construction plans, specifications, quantity take-offs and construction estimatesAssisting with field work for data collection, site inspections and observationsBuilding surface models in AutoCAD Civil3DSupporting Project Managers with various tasks to advance and track project progress.Internship is with the local Water Resources group, but there may be opportunities to assist in other disciplines in the office such as Geotechnical, Transportation, and Environmental Services.QualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsProficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Desired software applications include: AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcMap/GISStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsMust have good organizational skills, be reliable, detail orientated and capable of working independently on assigned tasks.Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.Exposure to H&H software applications including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM a plus.Education and ExperienceMust be a college student candidate for Civil and/or Environmental Engineering degree or other technical discipline.Valid drivers license required.Previous internship or co-op experience a plusTypical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time.
