We are looking for a Junior Channel Manager to run the day-to-day operations for Astrum, a leading educational YouTube channel dedicated to explaining the wonders of the universe.
The ideal candidate will combine deep knowledge of the YouTube platform with a love of space, and have the ability to navigate data and performance insights to make the best decisions needed to drive audience growth.
We are seeking an imaginative and multi-disciplined individual who can handle a variety of tasks and duties; they will be publishing content based on performance data, audience insight and trends, as well as being responsible for multi-variant testing, eg titles and thumbnails.
You will undertake continual analysis of YouTube viewership using various analytical tools to inform strategic and tactical decisions and supply data for determining programming. While YouTube will be your primary focus, you will also be responsible for uploading content to other platforms, eg TikTok.
Tasks
Be responsible for managing day-to-day operations for Astrum and associated channels, eg Astrum Extra.
Upload content, ensuring adherence to platform best practices.
Identify opportunities to cross-post and/or re-version YouTube content for other platforms.
Manage content output on all relevant publishing platforms.
Develop performance updates for the wider team and company.
Continuously optimise back catalogue content eg via new thumbnails and titles.
Suggest content ideas and feed back on edits where appropriate.
Utilise data analysis to provide actionable insights and growth strategies.
Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders to present channel activities and performance.
Work closely with internal and external commercial partners.
Keep abreast of YouTube platform developments, trends, and training.
Optimise titles, descriptions, and keywords for SEO.
Write and edit metadata and copy for videos and channels.
Conduct granular analysis and reporting of YouTube analytics and other data sources.
Requirements
Science degree
Passion for cosmology
Deep and current knowledge of the YouTube platform and algorithm
Experience working on brands/publishers specialising in learning and education preferable
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with creative teams, and provide clear direction and feedback
Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to quality control and editorial standards
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner
