This is a collegial work environment with a diverse clientele.We are looking for a Legal Assistant I who will assist in the smooth operations of the firm from phone calls to scheduling consultations to closing cases. The Legal Assistant I will assist with all cases, but will focus initially on estate planning. The Legal Assistant I will assist with all clients, but will mostly assist with Spanish and Portuguese speaking clients.20-40 hour per week. Will become full-time position for the right candidate.$15.00 - $20.00 per hour will depend on experience.Hybrid In-Person/Remote possibility after the training period.Objectives of this Role Ensure the office is running smoothly at all times Support attorney in optimizing their legal work time Represent the organization with professionalism, integrity, and warmth when dealing with leads, clients, and court officials Maintain strict confidentiality of organizational and client information Help improve the office internal process Assist with cases as neededResponsibilities Communicate with clients in person, over the phone, and via email Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining office calendars, scheduling appointments, onboarding clients, following up with leads and clients, scanning documents, processing mail, billing, and compiling complex documentation Create and maintain case files (electronically and physically) Screen, direct, and prioritize incoming calls Follow up and monitor leads Assist Legal Assistant IIs in progressing cases Assist in closing cases Assist in drafting estate planning documents Other duties as assignedRequired Skills and Qualifications Spanish (if you dont speak Portuguese) Portuguese (if you dont speak Spanish) Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail Strong organizational skills Proficient in Word, Excel, PDF, and other technology Friendly demeanorPreferred Skills and Qualifications Associate or Bachelors degree Knowledge of online court filing systems Knowledge of Docketwise case management system
