We are a fast-paced, well-respected personal injury plaintiff's firm searching for new team members for 3 new legal assistant positions. Do you love to organize? Do you hate being bored? These on-site legal assistant positions will each directly collaborate and support a litigation paralegal that works with several attorneys that push cases to trial. Scheduling: Legal assistants create and maintain calendar entries for all deadlines and reminders for case management, as well as scheduling meetings, depositions, mediations, hearings, etc. Communication: Legal assistants communicate with clients, lawyers, court personnel, opposing counsel, and experts to monitor and coordinate the flow of information about the matter. Case File maintenance: Legal assistants collect, organize, and maintain case information including case status, communication notes, email, files, etc., as well as process and distribute case information documents effectively and efficiently with the litigation paralegal, attorneys, clients, etc. Document preparation: Legal assistants prepare and edit legal documents for lawyers, ensuring they adhere to legal standards and contain the correct information, including review and proof-reading for accuracy, spelling, grammar, and form.Case preparation: Legal assistants assist lawyers and litigation paralegals in preparing for trials by collecting and documenting facts, gathering and compiling case evidence and documentation including various records, photos/videos, and preparing court materials. Client intake: Legal assistants are often the first contact for clients or courts. Billing and timekeeping: Legal assistants keep track of deadlines and perform bookkeeping.
