Communications in Harrisburg, PA, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical and Low Voltage Technician to join our team. This unique role combines the expertise of a Journeyman Electrician with the technical know-how of a Low Voltage Technician. As part of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, voice and data communication systems, networks, and equipment across commercial, industrial, and healthcare environments. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position that includes a company vehicle, gas card, and comprehensive training after a short probationary period. Responsibilities: Follow all safety rules and regulations.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Use blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine electrical requirements and materials needed.Install, terminate, splice, and maintain copper and fiber cabling, as well as electrical wiring and control equipment.Ensure all installations conform to NEC, industry standards, and trade regulations.Install, terminate, and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, and alarm systems, as well as control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.Establish and maintain voice and data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables, installing network equipment, and ensuring system integration.Conduct routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on both electrical and low voltage communication systems and equipment.Document and label installations, configurations, and repairs, keeping accurate records of system performance and inventory.Collaborate with other professionals to ensure efficient and effective communication and power distribution across projects.Interact with customers, suppliers, and other professionals.Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or Technical School Diploma (or equivalent).Journeyman Electrician license or completion of an apprenticeship program preferred.3 or more years experience in commercial or industrial electrical work, as well as experience in telecommunications, low-voltage, or related fields.Strong understanding of both electrical systems and telecommunications networks, with the ability to articulate and implement said systems.Valid drivers license and compliance with all DOT regulations and requirements.The ability to operate industry-related tools, equipment, and certification devices for both electrical and low voltage systems.Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and to navigate construction sites, including climbing ladders, working at heights, and lifting objects up to eighty pounds.Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and humidity.Professional appearance and courteous personalityPreferred Qualifications: BICSI or equivalent certifications.5 or more years of industry experience.The ability to weld is a plus.
