Maintenance Manager

E.J. Freight is looking for a safety and maintenance manager to oversee our fleet of semi trucks and 53' reefer trailers. This role will help with vehicle acquisition, maintenance (both preventative and repairs), and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. Good recordkeeping, managing costs and driver monitoring will be key in this role. Qualified candidates should hold a CDL-A and have a robust knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations. As a leader of a 24/7 OTR fleet, you will have occasion to respond to after-hours issues and emergencies.Duties:Foster a safety culture by ensuring safe work practices and holding self and others accountable to follow all safety and environmental procedures.Ensure vehicles meet regulations, manage documentation, and enforce driver safety.Maintain accurate records of vehicle registration, maintenance logs, fuel usage, and driver records.Maintain/manage a current list of vendors to use; communicate and confirm services with vendors and approve invoices for paymentMonitor fuel use, reduce costs, and manage fleet expenses efficiently.Implement fleet technology, analyze data, monitor driver behavior, and provide regular reports to management.Mentor/train drivers on reefer trailers and basic tractor maintenanceUp to 15% travel within Pierce/King countiesAssist with driver recruitment and retention; maintain DOT driver filesQualifications:CDL-ADOT/FMCSA knowledgeComputer data entry skills: Word processing, spreadsheets, OutlookExcellent time management skillsAttention to detailPhysical requirements include: Sitting at a desk, Lifting up to 50 pounds, Reviewing/inspecting trucks/trailers and checking on our truck yardPreferred: Experience with SamsaraPreferred: ASE CertificationPreferred: Experience with PCS Mobile AppAbout E.J.
