Job title: Match Official Development Coach (CORE X Coach)
Reports to: EDI Manager
Location: Remote with frequent travel England
Contract: Part-time (0.6) Fixed Term Contract until July 2026 (extension subject to further funding)
This is an exciting time to join PGMOL, and we are looking for a Match Official Development Coach to work with CORE X officials across the men’s & women’s semi-professional game. This role is essential in ensuring that Match Officials in the targeted CORE X programme have world-class coaching provision to enable them to develop the skills and experience to progress to the next level of refereeing. In collaboration with our elite-level Performance Support team, you will provide technical coaching and a safe space to support and nurture Referees from historically underrepresented ethnic communities to further our commitment to make refereeing in the professional game more diverse.
We would love to hear from you if:
You have professional or lived experience and are an ally of working with, and overcoming the challenges faced by any historically underrepresented community within society.
You have experience of coaching Referees or other Officials, particularly those operating within the National League System of the men’s football pyramid or tiers 3/4 in the women’s football pyramid.
What you can expect to be involved in
Creating and developing a community of Referees who are historically underrepresented in refereeing who aspire to progress their refereeing careers.
Working collaboratively with The FA and PGMOL teams to develop a curriculum of CPD and performance support aimed at unlocking the potential of each Referee in the CORE X programme.
Supporting Referees in both a personal and professional capacity, ensuring that their individual needs are met.
Fostering a safe and inclusive environment for Referees from historically underrepresented ethnic communities to learn and grow together.
