LONG ISLAND, NY (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY): A lovely Port Jefferson family on the North Shore of Long Island is seeking a kind, caring, and experienced FULL-TIME, LIVE-OUT CHILD CAREGIVER for their darling baby boy. As new parents, the family desires a nanny with infant and toddler experience, as well as the compassion and care to nurture their newest addition. The ideal candidate will be a team player, working alongside the parents, and well-versed in infant and toddler care with an active personality. Early Childhood Education and/or bilingual skills in Greek or German would be a plus! The current schedule is 9 am-5 pm, Monday - Friday. However, with changing work schedules and the child's development, flexibility is kindly requested and will be reciprocated. As Mom works remotely from home, the schedule may be fluid to meet everyone's needs. The family is happy to guarantee a certain number of hours each week to ensure the perfect match is made. Additional hours in the evening and/or weekends may be possible and preferable, albeit not a requirement. Their son is lively, bubbly, and increasingly interested in the world around him! He currently naps 2-3 times per day, with a wake-up time of around 8 am-9 am. He currently bottle feeds 5-6 times per day and eats solids 1-2 times per day. As he becomes more active, the family needs a nanny who can keep up with his newfound energy! Duties will include but are not limited to, full care of the child, laundry for the family, meal prep for the family, and light housekeeping. Tasks such as meal prep, laundry, and light housekeeping should be completed while the child naps or while Mom takes a break to interact with the child. Curating age-appropriate activities, with the parent's approval, to aid in the child's development will be expected. All decisions regarding the child will go through and be made by the parents, although helpful feedback from an experienced nanny will be valued. Screens will NOT be permitted at any time; phone usage will be for emergencies only unless otherwise discussed. The family lives in a walkable area of Port Jefferson. Their home is roughly 10 minutes away from two LIRR stations. Parking is available if driving to work, although driving/having a car is not required. Travel to Charleston and possibly other domestic locations would be ideal but not required. The ideal start date is 8/28/2024. ALL vaccinations, including Covid and Covid booster, are required. Infant CPR and First Aid certification is a must; courses can be taken before employment if not currently certified. Paid sick time and paid vacation, along with other benefits, will be open for discussion with the right match. Pay is $28+, commensurate with experience, gross pay via payroll.
