Are you committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion?The Nutrition Coordinator will administer nutrition activities funded through the federal SNAP-Education program in Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties. Responsibilities include program coordination and materials management, community networking and outreach, direct nutrition education, relationship building, volunteer management to conduct SNAP-Education activities, and support of the overall Community Programs team. This person will work with our partner agencies to coach them and provide nutrition recommendations and strategies for Policy, System, and Environmental (PSE) changes. The position is based out of our Charleston regional facility and requires daily travel around the tri-county area for programming; mileage will be reimbursed.Required Education, Skills, Knowledge and Experience1. A Bachelor's degree in a related field (Dietetics, Public Health, Health Education and/or Human Services) is required. Additional years of related experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree2. Minimum two years relevant work experience in nutrition, human services and customer service preferred3. Proficiency with MS Office software including Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint4. Proven experience with nutrition education instruction5. Basic cooking knowledge and skills; basic food handling knowledge or ability to learn about food handling. The ability to complete ServSafe food safety certification will be requiredPreferred Education, Skills, Knowledge and Experience1. Non-profit and or social services work experience preferred2. Resourceful and creative in approach to research and problem solving3. Proven experience in developing project plans from initial idea to full implementation, including necessary follow-up4. Strong project management/organizational skills5. Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, handle interruptions, maintain focus on task producing accurate work6. Experience in data management7. Strong customer service focus8. Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively to diverse groups9. Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as one-on-one with class participants10.
