Summary:The Open Innovation Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and supporting external opportunities (projects and assets) at early stages, i.e. discovery to pre-clinical, and novel technologies to enrich the global Kyowa Kirins research pipeline, mainly focused on Cell and Gene Therapies.Essential Functions: Support scouting activities for external partnering of early stage projects (discovery to pre-clinical) and novel technologies to enrich the global Kyowa Kirins research pipeline in Cell and Gene Therapies. Analyze data to identify trends / opportunities / competitive advantages and conducts analyses for equity investments, joint ventures, collaborative agreements, and licensing opportunities. Assemble and effectively utilizes internal and external resource (as necessary) to ensure adequate support while analyzing opportunities. Assist with global Open Innovation-related specific alliance agreements and governance activities, including procedures for decision making, project team meetings, and data exchange. Prepares and updates reports and presentation materials related to Strategy Department activities. Visit selected potential partner (site visits, conference, etc.) and create presentation materials outlining the proposal. Develop collaborative and productive relationships cross-functionally within the Kyowa Kirin organization. Requirements:EducationBachelors or Masters degree life sciences, business or closely related discipline. Ph.D. highly preferred.Experience Minimum three (3) years in Biopharmaceutical / Biotech industry with relevant multi-disciplinary work experiences (e.g., Research, Development, Business Development). Established experience working with scientific evaluation teams identifying and evaluating promising partnering and licensing opportunities. Experience in Cell and Gene Therapy field is highly preferred. Proven track record in alliance/program management preferred.Technical Skills Solid research and scientific expertise / knowledge in at least one biological, biomedical or biotechnological area. Develop details of the approach to assignment with consideration of schedule, cost, reliability, simplicity, and effectiveness. Manage assignments in a timely manner and with consistent and reliable results. Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills: articulate and effective communicator and presenter, able to describe complex problems and solutions in understandable terms. Advanced experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
