Location: SarasotaJob Type: Full-TimeSalary: 50k, Bonus available for high performance.Position Overview:PhysMED is seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Patient Advocate to assist auto accident patients in navigating their treatment and care journey. The Patient Advocate will act as a liaison between patients, medical professionals, and legal teams, providing essential support throughout the complex process of recovery in the Florida auto accident landscape. This position plays a key role in ensuring patients receive high-quality care, understand their treatment options, and stay informed on legal and insurance-related matters.Key Responsibilities:Patient Guidance: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, guiding them through their treatment plans, answering questions, and providing clarity on their medical care.Case Management: Assist patients in managing their care plans, including scheduling appointments, coordinating procedures, and ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and complete.Insurance and Legal Navigation: Help patients understand the complexities of auto insurance claims and collaborate with personal injury attorneys, ensuring patients are informed about their case status and next steps.Advocacy: Ensure patients are receiving proper care and services, advocating on their behalf when needed to ensure their needs are met.Education: Educate patients about their rights under Florida law concerning personal injury protection (PIP) benefits, medical care options, and the process of recovery.Collaboration: Work closely with the clinical team, legal professionals, and insurance adjusters to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of patient interactions, care plans, and relevant communications..Recommended Qualifications:Strong customer service skills. Ability to handle customer objections and lead disgruntled patients to a satisfying solution and a superior patient experience.Experience in a healthcare setting, case management, or patient advocacy (experience in personal injury or auto accident-related care is a plus)Knowledge of Florida auto accident and personal injury laws is desirableStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and complex situationsExperience working with insurance companies and legal professionals is a plusProficiency in using patient management software is a plusHigh attention to detail and excellent organizational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
