OVERVIEW
We're a rapidly growing, venture-backed SaaS company reinventing IT Operations with our cloud-native platform. Our platform processes tens of thousands of events per second, helping enterprises monitor, manage, and optimize their IT infrastructure in real time. As we scale, we're looking for a veteran Data Architect to reimagine our data architecture and lead us into our next phase of growth.
As our Data Architect, you'll own our next-generation data architecture's technical vision and implementation. You'll work directly with our engineering teams to design and implement scalable solutions to handle millions of concurrent events while maintaining sub-second latency. This is a unique opportunity to shape the foundation of a high-growth platform using cutting-edge AWS services and distributed systems patterns.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Lead the architectural design and implementation of our new data platform, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance
Design and implement real-time data processing pipelines capable of scaling to tens of thousands of events per second
Architect solutions using AWS services such as Kinesis, DynamoDB, RedShift, and EMR
Create data modeling standards and best practices for the engineering organization
Collaborate with engineering teams to implement new data architecture patterns
Develop migration strategies to transition from current architecture to new solutions
Mentor engineers on data modeling and architectural best practices
Partner with product management to align technical architecture with business goals

8+ years of experience in data architecture, with at least 3 years focused on high-throughput distributed systems
Proven experience designing and implementing systems processing 1M+ events per second
Deep expertise with AWS data services (Kinesis, DynamoDB, RedShift, S3, EMR)
Strong background in data modeling for both operational and analytical workloads
Experience with real-time stream processing frameworks (Apache Kafka, Amazon Kinesis)
Track record of successfully re-architecting large-scale production systems
Expertise in distributed systems patterns and eventual consistency models

NICE TO HAVES

Experience with IT Operations or observability platforms
Knowledge of time-series databases (Prometheus, InfluxDB, Timestream)
Background in implementing data mesh or data lake architectures
Experience with Apache Cassandra or other distributed databases
Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and similar observability standards
Track record of technical leadership in a high-growth environment

TECH STACK

AWS (Primary cloud platform)
Kafka/Kinesis for event streaming
DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis
Kubernetes for container orchestration
Python, Go, Java (primary languages)
Modern CI/CD practices

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company and make a significant impact on our technical foundation. We're looking for someone excited about solving complex distributed systems challenges and can help us scale our platform to the next level
