The Platform Quality Engineering team is a key team in the Platform Vertical and the whole Engineering and R&D departments at Five9. The team is responsible for delivery of TAAS (testing-as-a-service) solution to different Agile Delivery Teams and Engineering Verticals using manual and semi-automated testing approach for the classic and classic-cloud company products such as Virtual Call Center, Web Based Freedom and CRM Integration applications, Digital Engagement services (including email, chat, SMS, and social interactions) etc.
The purpose of this role is to define, design, and lead the development of a robust, sustainable, and scalable testing automation framework for continuous validation of our portfolio of Cloud services. This individual will play an instrumental role in defining the architecture and developing test automation strategies and services to enable application developers to collaborate and contribute behavioral and functional automated tests for continuous validation.

Responsibilities

Set the direction and standards for test automation
Deliver a robust, sustainable, and scalable automation capability
Work and guide quality engineering and application engineering teams across multiple locations
Effectively communicate plans, progress and status to internal customer organizations.
Develop materials in-line with the specific services opportunity and customer on-boarding requirements.
Be accountable for the test automation projects, mentor, and provide leadership to the QE automation developers as well as application developers


Skills and qualifications required:

10-15 years of software engineering & testing experience including Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Expert knowledge of test automation design, best-practice, strategy and planning and implementation.
Have worked within Scrum teams using Agile methodologies and BDD tools and principles
Cloud
Knowledge in CICD solutions such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD
Hands-on experience with Python 3x
Solid knowledge of programming techniques and algorithms (OOP, multithreading)
Experience in REST API automation and/or SDK type of interfaces (Java, Python, C++, etc.)
Experience with Selenium tool/library
Experienced user of Linux-based OSes
Experience with SW version control and project/bug-tracking systems (JIRA, Git, ...)
Very strong interpersonal, reliable and communication skills

Desirable:

Positive & adaptable; multi-task in a continually changing environment
Good knowledge and experience with modern enterprise frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot
Ability to work with both Windows and Linux/Unix stacks
Pro-activity in investigation of new opportunities for automation
Knowledge of Asterisk or FreeSWITCH usage and configuration level
