You will be a hands-on maker and work collaboratively with project team members to deliver high-quality work for clients in the government, not-for-profit, and private sectors. You’ll scope and define design approaches, prototype and design digital interfaces, and create pathways for change through effective design and storytelling.You have in-depth knowledge and experience in visual and communication design in diverse contexts and mediums. Knowledge and experience in applying human-centred design methodologies to achieve design outcomes is essential.What you will do:Show impact through design practice Tackle design problems that range from well-defined to ambiguous Solve client problems by applying a variety of design and creative approaches Use conceptual thinking to respond to user and client needs Use sketching, wireframing and prototyping to communicate and test possible futures for products, services, and physical/digital touchpoints Use design research to test ideas and inform design decisions and rationale Support the design and facilitation of online and in-person workshops Use customer journeys, service blueprints and experience maps as a way to uncover challenges and opportunities Collaborate on qualitative research (interviewing and sense-making) and turn insights into actionable plans for the client Document your work in design systems and brand guidelines. Deliver client projects to a high standard You understand how to communicate research findings, strategic foresight and conceptual ideas. You can create detailed designs and communicate the design rationale both verbally and visually to drive change within an organisation You are comfortable with your personal design process and are able to communicate it to others You are willing and open to try new processes, tools, ways of working and methods of production You can identify when you are uncertain or require help Manage client relationships You are comfortable speaking directly to clients/stakeholders You can deliver an excellent presentation You can tell a story in a convincing and compelling way Demonstrate ethics, purpose and care You are a kind, generous and respectful individual Your personality is a reflection of your personal practice You can understand or engage in ethical conversations about your work You have a strong desire to contribute to the studio practice and culture RequirementsEssential skills and experience At least 2 years of experience working in a product design, UX/UI, communications design, graphic design or human-centred design role; Excellent skills with Figma, Adobe Suite, and other no-code prototyping services; Experience using and creating design systems and brand guidelines; You can show at least one project where you designed and conducted qualitative research with the users of a product, service or policy; You can tailor outputs and design communication to meet client needs; You are willing to travel to conduct research if required; You will help us to design and build a positive, collaborative, inclusive studio culture; Fluent in written and spoken English; and Full and current working rights for Australia.
