We have opportunities within the following divisions:Eating DisordersMental HealthSubstance UseProfessional and Psychiatric ServicesJob DescriptionThe Psychiatrist is responsible for consulting with program leadership and the operations team to ensure appropriate psychiatric/pharmacological interventions. The Psychiatrist completes an initial thorough evaluation and sees each patient weekly thereafter. If indicated, medications are prescribed, and monitored by the Psychiatrist at least once weekly. In addition, the Psychiatrist consults as needed with the treatment team and may attend the weekly treatment planning meetings.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping appropriate and effective psychopharmacological interventions for psychiatric disordersInterfacing with families of patients for consent and support of psychopharmacological interventions as necessaryEffectively identifying, conceptualizing and communicating criteria specific to the level of treatment and formulate and effective appeal for insurance carriers as necessaryEffectively interfacing with the treatment team, contributing to the case conceptualization, treatment plan and assessing the ongoing effectiveness of the interventionsMeeting regularly in a collaborative fashion with program leadership to discuss individual treatment progressActing on behalf of the treatment program when called upon; such interactions may include insurance companies, licensing and accreditation bodiesSeeing individual clients on a weekly basis to monitor progressDocumenting notes in our EMR systemProviding second opinion evaluations when neededAssisting program treatment staff in treatment planningProviding medical direction to the treatment teamFor more information about our company, please visit us at discoverybehavioralhealth.comQualificationsMust be a qualified psychiatrist, with experience in adolescent psychiatry if indicatedMust be a graduate of an approved medical school and hold a current license in the state of practiceMust be eligible for membership in the local branch of the State Medical SocietyAdditional InformationWe are proud to be an EEO employer M/F/D/V.
