But we’ve still got a long way to go... fancy joining us?About the roleAs an Infra Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and guiding the most important part of our engineering organization — our people.This role involves high interaction with other teams and business areas, nurturing a culture of collaboration, communication, and coordination across different groups.All these tasks deeply impact the company’s ability to be a profitable business, involving the processing of large volumes of data with precision and speed — a unique challenge from a purely engineering point of view.We foster a culture of ownership, continuous integration, high observability, peer code reviews, pair programming, and active contribution to the open-source community.Before moving into engineering management, you were likely a senior individual contributor with a comprehensive understanding of complex systems — experience that now helps you guide others, set priorities, and support career development.You will:Lead a team of diverse and talented SRE engineers with different levels of expertiseDrive technical projects to success and provide leadership in a fast-paced environmentThink critically about the long-term career development of team membersConduct regular check-ins and 1-1s with team membersCommunicate across cross-functional teams such as Product, Analytics, Fraud, and SecurityLead prioritization efforts and provide mentorship to othersAnalyse and define roadmaps that create impact for product engineering teamsDeeply care about the happiness and growth of othersReport directly to (and receive support from) the Head of Engineering of your group
Our ideal candidate has:Strong alignment with our principles Excellent communication skills in all circumstancesHands-on people management and/or technical leadership experienceA passion for bringing great products into the world through collaboration and ingenuityExtensive professional experience in backend software development, working on robust, complex systems serving high volumes of usersAppreciation for engineering best practices and a mindset that values quality over quantity
Bonus points:Ability to handle ambiguous problems and make trade-offs without compromising qualityExperience working with remote and partially remote teamsAbility to understand, diagnose, and clearly articulate technical challenges and solutionsExperience with Kubernetes, Grafana, and AWSExperience with distributed system communication, performance analysis, and optimizationExperience with GitLab maintenance and scalabilityExperience managing different SRE verticals such as Runtime, Networking, Observability, and Persistence
