About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled, motivated, and collaborative Senior Software Engineer to join our technology team! We are open to both local Minneapolis, Minnesota or Birmingham, Alabama based candidates and candidates based out of state, but within the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship. You will be responsible for building software features, from inception through delivery to production. In this position, you will have a direct impact on our success by helping to build the tools that get the right message to the right person at the right time to help people take action to improve their health and wellbeing.For positions offering fully remote flexibility, please keep in mind all Icario employees must live within the United States full time. If you meet a combination of the listed skills below, we encourage you to apply! BS/CS, MS/CS or equivalent 6+ years of experience building robust services at scale. Build and maintain high volume / low latency mission critical servicesStrong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their real-world use casesExperience with distributed systems, databases, and streaming frameworks Experience building and shipping services around Kubernetes, Cloud Native, and Cloud Service Providers. Experience collaborating with teams to write software to support cloud services.Experience with backend systems and software engineering. Programming experience in Java or other JVM-based languagesUnderstanding of standard approaches to software engineering, software architecture, and design. Ability to document software and services.
