JOIN OUR EDUCATION TEAM: TEACHING OUTDOORS IN A DIFFERENT WAYTeaching Responsible Earth Education (T.R.E.E.) is a nonprofit founded to engage students in science and nature and to model educational communities of kindness. T.R.E.E.s main goals are to open minds to how our planet Earth operates, including its interconnectedness, and to provide opportunities that build confidence and independence. You are essential to ensuring that each T.R.E.E. participant knows that what they do matters and that they individually matter. You do this by learning not just comprehensive program activity roles, but also by understanding and implementing carefully designed teaching approaches that incorporate the head, heart, and hands of all learners.RESPONSIBILITIES:Teach students in a science curriculum-based program outdoorsManage behaviors in a full-class as well as in smaller groupsMealtime dutiesSpecial projects and light maintenance of the facilityDaily set-up and clean-up tasksConsistently contribute to the 5-member teaching teamQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree or equivalent work experienceStrong commitment to children and learningExperience with teaching childrenAble to work in outdoor environments in a variety of weather conditionsCan lift at least 50 poundsFlexible schedulePerformance/acting skills a plusAbility to change gears between varied tasksTeam playerMust have a smartphone in order to receive calls, texts and to access email.Click here to see if you qualify for a free smartphone or service.Prefer bank account that accepts direct depositSALARY:Hourly wage of $17 per hourBENEFITS:CPR and 1st Aid Training CertificationMileage reimbursed during work hours at 0.50/mileTolls fully reimbursedDATES OF EMPLOYMENT:Anticipated start date: September 3, 2024Anticipated end date: April 15, 2024September involves paid mandatory training weeks (includes 3 nights first week).We are hiring for two different positions:Educators for overnight programs (Sunship Earth and Sunship III) which occurs on weekends in the fall, and on weekdays in the winter. This position is more of a full-time schedule.Educators for Earthkeepers, a three-day program conducted on weekdays.
