Job descriptionWe are looking for dedicated teachers to teach elementary, middle and high school and fostering curiosity for STEM curriculum. The ideal candidate must support critical thinking, create curricula, lesson plans and assessment aligned with NGGS standards. This is a NASA Funded position that will enable children to learn techniques and skills performed in a mobile STEM lab and in the classroom that captures the STEAM/STEAM curriculum. Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Mathematics will be the focused teaching subjects.Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:Teaching license and state certification in secondary education and subject areaBachelors or masters degree in education or subject areaPrior experience as a school educator a plusLocationPhysical Location: Primarily Hazleton, Wilkes-Barre, and Scranton.Required QualificationsValid Pennsylvania Teaching CertificateChild Abuse Clearance, Background Check, FBI Fingerprinting, Sex Offender Clearance, Physical, and TB test are required.Must be willing to travel to various schools located in the Hazleton, Wilks-barre and Scranton areas.Flexibility with hours and locations are a must.Basic Computer LiteracyCreate a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn.Preferred QualificationsAn infectious passion for your subject area and lifelong learning, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and handle multiple situations effectivelyCPR and First Aid CertificationBilingual -Read, write, understand, and speak English/Spanish to communicate with children and their parents in English/Spanish.Experience from a previous school or agencyPay$20-30/hr. based on qualifications and experience All applicants must submit a resume and cover letter to [email protected] to be considered for this position.
