Youth Advocate Position Summary:The Youth Advocate provides services and support to at-risk youth through structured in-school and after-school education groups, and individual youth coaching and mentoring.Job Responsibilities:Complete trainings and obtain mastery in the selected interventionsMaintain and cultivate the strong partnership between Will Rogers Courts, Heronville Elementary, and Lilyfield as well as other community partnersRecruit participants through strong relationships with community partnersCultivate relationships with and provide positive connections for youth and families in Will Rogers CourtsPlan and facilitate afterschool, evening and daytime classes as a trainerProvide individual mentoring and coaching services to youth on site at Will Rogers Courts and other Lilyfield locationsCreate a fun and interactive environment for youth to learnSupport individual training make-up or follow up sessionsCase coordination and management in conjunction with other service providers such as foster care workers, counselors, teachers, etc.Identify needs in the target community and create solutions to meet those needsMaintain awareness of and relationships with a variety of other services providersComplete assessments for children and youth, collecting data from each participant during the group sessions and maintaining case filesUpdate data collection tools such as excel spreadsheets, client/case management softwareParticipate in community outreach events as needed.Travel between sites for activities.Perform other duties as assigned.Wage Classification:Full Time, Non-exemptPay Type and Frequency:Salary, Biweekly Work Hours:Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00pm, with evenings and weekends as necessary for group programmingReports to:EmpowerOKC Youth Program Manager Financial Justification for the Position:The position is funded in part through a multi-year grant, in addition to state contracts and charitable contributions. Education/ExperienceBachelors level degree in social work, psychology or human services related field of study, or GED or high school diploma with three years of work experience and lived experience in the South Oklahoma City community. Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual or who are from South Oklahoma City where services are performed.Competencies/Requirements:Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles change, sets personal standards, stays focused under pressure.Has good listening skills, builds strong relationships, is flexible/open-minded, negotiates effectively, solicits performance feedback and handles constructive criticism.Willingness to agree to and abide by all policies and procedures including OP406 Code of Ethical and Christian Conduct and OP412 Faith Engagement.Meet requirements of licensing standards in regard to criminal background check.Be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of performing the assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks.Valid Oklahoma drivers licensePhysical Requirements:Ability to sit on the floor, bend and be at ground level with children.To apply please visit www.lilyfield.org/employment-opportunities
