Job descriptionYoung Womens Empowerment Center offers a positive and nurturing environment which includes psychological, educational, behavioral and emotional growth targeted to help young females have a bright future. We are looking for a full time therapist to work with female adolescents who struggle with behavioral issues. Which can range from depression, anxiety, ODD, PTSD and bipolar. The clients stay is a minimum of 6 months to 12 months. The therapist will spend time with each client guiding them to a successful mental state. The therapist will also be working with the clients family, building and fixing the family as a whole to function in a healthy way. Our mission is to guide young females and build independence with inspiring hope, vision and courage for their future!The therapy that we require the therapist to do is:Individual Therapy: Individual therapy is conducted during treatment a minimum of once weekly. These private sessions with a therapist provide an opportunity for the resident to examine their methods of handling feelings and problems in their lives, to try out new ways of behaving and coping in their relationships with others, and to deepen their understanding of their own selves as persons. Individual therapy sessions provide opportunities for the young person to privately discuss their problems and to develop more adaptive ways of handling them.Family Therapy: Family therapy usually occurs over the phone or by utilizing video conference technology but a parents are welcome to attend in person, Horseshoe Mountain Academys therapist schedules weekly family therapy sessions. These sessions provide an opportunity for families to work through sensitive issues together and to support each other, prevent relapse, and plan for returning home after treatment.Group Therapy: Traditional group therapy is facilitated by a therapist, Group is held 2-3 times a week. Additionally, each group is specialized according the needs of the students, these specialty groups include but are not limited to, the following:Cognitive Behavior Therapy-(CBT) is widely used and a great deal of research has been conducted regarding its effectiveness and it is currently the most evidence-based form of psychotherapy. CBT combines cognitive therapy and behavior modification. CBT is active and focuses on the present, emphasizing problem thoughts and behaviors and taking direct steps to change both.Dialectical Behavior Therapy-(DBT) emphasizes balancing behavioral change, problem-solving, and emotional regulation, mindfulness, and acceptance. DBT helps those who need to change patterns of behavior that are not helpful, such as self-harm, suicidal ideation, and substance abuse. This approach works towards helping people increase their emotional and cognitive regulation by learning about the triggers that lead to reactive states and helping to assess which coping skills to apply in the sequence of events, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to help avoid undesired reactions.Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy that aims to addressing the needs of adolescents with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other difficulties related to traumatic life events.Thinking for a change:YWEC also uses the Thinking for a change program: Thinking for a change uses a combination of approaches to increase clients awareness of themselves and others. It integrates cognitive restructuring, social skills, and problem-solving. The program begins by teaching clients an introspective process for examining their ways of thinking and their feelings, beliefs, and attitudes. The process is reinforced throughout the program. Social-skills training is provided as an alternative to antisocial behaviors. The program culminates by integrating the skills clients have learned into steps for problem-solving. Problem-solving becomes the central approach clients learn that enables them to work through difficult situations without engaging in high risk behaviorsQualifications:-A minimum of a clinical medical health counselor CMHC-Experience in RTC is preferredEducation:-High school diploma-Bachelors degreeBenefits Include:-Vision-Dental-Paid federal holidaysWe are looking for a full-time therapist to work Monday-Friday 8 hours a day.
